Opal Sock Wool - Fairisle designs
from a single ball
The makers of amazing Opal sock yarn - the German printed yarn which
falls into a fairisle pattern as you knit - have exciting designs in both brights and pastel shades.
A 100g ball of 4 ply Opal - $23.00 per ball, a soft but hard-wearing blend of 75 per
cent wool, 25 per cent synthetic, knitted on 2.75mm needles, makes
a pair of large adult socks or four small socks. It was designed to
make great socks - we have patterns for men, women, children and infants
specially designed for Opal or use any 4 Ply sock pattern - but also
makes other small items such as beanies, scarves, mittens and toddlers'
garments. Sock pattern $5.00.
We have a wide range of colours, but not all colours in every design
may be available. Each design is a limited edition: as the designs
sell out Opal releases new ones.
We also stock 6ply Opal wool in 150g balls, for $32.00. This wool
is great for knitting slightly thicker adult socks or a child's jumper
(pattern available free with yarn purchase).
Prices are quoted in Australian dollars and include 10% goods
and services tax. Purchases by customers outside Australia are tax
free.
